Digital Travel Trunks for Black History in Louisiana to 1900 is a Vermilionville Education Enrichment Project, in partnership with the College of Education, the Guilbeau Center for Public History and the Department of History, Geography and Philosophy at University of Louisiana at Lafayette. This project was designed in support of the Lafayette Public School System and the mission of Vermilionville Living History Museum to support the history of people of African descent in southern Louisiana. This project supports NCSS framework student standards and Louisiana standards for social studies for elementary school students. Exploring Black History in Louisiana to 1900 provides an education resource and lesson plans for teaching third graders Louisiana history and Black history. |
